Timber & Log Import Logistics
Pizhou makes panels and the raw material comes from overseas. From the forest to the Pizhou factory — clearance, fumigation and inland transport on one chain.
Where this industry usually gets hurt
Serving manufacturers across Xuzhou, these are the problems we see most often.
Strict phytosanitary rules
Timber requires a phytosanitary certificate and some origins require fumigation. Without complete certification, clearance fails.
Complicated HS classification
HS codes differ by species and degree of processing, and duty rates differ sharply. Misclassification means back duty and penalties.
Inland leg to the factory
Getting timber from a coastal port to Pizhou is costly overland; inland waterway is needed to bring the cost down.
Seasonal price swings
Timber prices move with season and policy, and poor import timing means buying at the peak.
How we solve it
From planning to execution — each item answers one of the problems above.
Expert classification and clearance
Familiar with timber HS codes in the 4401–4407 range, classifying accurately by species and processing state for compliant duty optimisation.
Fumigation handled
We arrange phytosanitary certification and fumigation treatment to meet China Customs and forestry authority requirements.
Inland waterway cost saving
After discharge at the coastal port, move by inland vessel to Pizhou at materially lower cost than road.
Delivered to the factory
Direct delivery from port to the Pizhou plant after clearance, including handling and yard services.
Market timing input
Timber market reference information to help plan your import rhythm.

Frequently asked questions
How is import duty on timber calculated?
Logs (heading 4403) are mostly zero duty with VAT at 9% (13% for some). Sawn timber (heading 4407) carries duty of 0–4% depending on species and processing state.
Which origins require fumigation?
Nearly all imported timber needs a phytosanitary certificate, and consignments from pest-affected regions require mandatory fumigation. Check the current Customs list for specifics.
Which port for Pizhou timber imports?
Commonly Lianyungang, Taicang and Zhangjiagang. Taicang handles the largest timber volume with mature supporting services; Lianyungang is closer to Xuzhou and connects more easily to Pizhou by inland waterway.
How long does clearance take?
Around 3–5 working days with complete documentation; add 2–5 days if fumigation or inspection is required.
