Construction Machinery Export Logistics
Xuzhou is where XCMG builds its machines — and where we know exactly how to move them. From the factory gate to the job site, out-of-gauge handled end to end.
Where this industry usually gets hurt
Serving manufacturers across Xuzhou, these are the problems we see most often.
Out-of-gauge is hard to book
Excavators and cranes are frequently over-width or over-height. Standard containers will not take them: you need flat rack, open top or flatbed, and carrier space for OOG must be applied for in advance.
Lashing must be done right
Machinery has a high centre of gravity and concentrated weight. Non-compliant securing can be rejected at discharge, trigger costly rework, or compromise vessel safety.
Heavy-lift capability varies by port
Not every port can lift heavy units. Choosing the wrong transhipment port can double your inland delivery cost.
Inland leg is the hard part
Moving machinery from a Xuzhou plant to the seaport needs specialised low-bed trailers, plus provincial and oversize permits that take time to obtain.
How we solve it
From planning to execution — each item answers one of the problems above.
Equipment-to-container matching
Enter length, width, height and weight and the system recommends flat rack, open top or flatbed with a lashing plan — so you do not book the wrong box and rework it later.
Multi-carrier OOG space
Contracted carrier rates are searchable online. Compare carriers, pick the best fit, and lock OOG space ahead of the cut-off.
Engineered securing
Lashing drawings based on the actual centre of gravity: timber chocks, wire rope and welded stoppers, photographed and archived for traceability.
Door-to-site
Collection at the Xuzhou plant → road or inland-waterway leg → load port → customs clearance at destination → inland delivery to site.
Road-to-barge cost saving
From Pizhou and Suqian inland ports, a combined road-to-barge plus ocean routing is often cheaper than trucking all the way to a coastal port.
Transport modes that fit
Packing & loading notes
Bare units need rust inhibitor and wax coating; hydraulic arms retracted and locked; battery disconnected; loose tools packed separately. For over-width units, confirm destination discharge capability in advance.
Documents you will need
- Commercial invoice
- Packing list
- Export declaration
- Oversize transport permit
- Nameplate photos
- Fumigation certificate (wood packaging)
- Insurance policy
Frequently asked questions
Which port do XCMG excavators usually ship from?
Units that fit a standard 20ft or 40ft go via Lianyungang or Shanghai. Out-of-gauge units usually prefer Lianyungang for its heavy-lift capability and proximity to Xuzhou; a road-to-barge move via Pizhou inland port to Shanghai or Ningbo is also common and often cheaper overall.
Flat rack or open top — how do I choose?
Choose open top when the cargo is over-width or over-height but can still be lifted in from above. Choose flat rack when it is over-width or over-length and cannot be top-loaded. The system recommends one based on the three dimensions you enter.
Does machinery export need fumigation?
Yes if you use solid wood pallets or crates — an IPPC-marked fumigation certificate is required. Steel-frame bare shipment or manufactured wood packaging does not require it.
How is destination inland delivery arranged?
We can quote DDP/DDU door-to-site, delivering by low-bed trailer to the job site and handling local oversize permits.
